While living in Minnesota during my years in chiropractic school, there was a phrase I heard spoken many times by my pastor, “Communication is a wonderful thing…when it happens”. He was obviously speaking of interpersonal relationships, our interactions with others, and our ability to discuss ideas.
Poor communication can have detrimental effects on personal relationships, but it can also have deleterious effects on your health. You want your hormones, neurotransmitters, enzymes, and co-factors to be able to “communicate” with each other in a healthy way. You want your body to speak messages of health and anti-inflammation, rather than stress, disease and inflammation that is so prevalent in today’s society.
Unfortunately for us, the messages of health and healing that our body tries to transmit our drowned out by a sea of noise from pollution, toxins, chemicals, poor nutrition, stress, lack of exercise and the list goes on and on. Fortunately for us, we can do something about it!
We’re moving on to talking right. We will give you some information to show you that you’re not abnormal if you talk to yourself. Well, at least not completely abnormal.
