Magnificent Seven: Drink Right – How Much?

We are moving on in our Magnificent Seven journey!  We are going to discuss over the next seven posts the importance of drinking right on a daily basis.  It is imperative to start this with referencing a great book that everyone should read, and that we will be gleaning some pearls of wisdom from, and that is the book entitled, You’re Not Sick, You’re Thirsty by F. Batmanghelidj, MD.

Without adequate water consumption you cannot function properly.  And guess what?  If you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated.  It is important to consume 1/2 your weight in ounces of water each day.  That means if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking 75 ounces of water and you want to add 5 ounces for every 15 minutes of exercise you perform.  If you see this number and are thinking, “Wow! I can never do that!”, then you aren’t consuming enough water.

So go out now, buy yourself a stainless steel water bottle, and be prepared to educate yourself on the virtues of drinking right!
