Okay, so this topic is near and dear to my heart. I just bought a new mattress. The past few months I noticed I was waking up with some extra aches and pains in my lower back. I noticed that when I would stay in a hotel for a seminar I would wake up refreshed and pain-free. So a quick scan of my old spring mattress revealed the truth…we were way overdue for a new mattress.
We decided to purchase a Sleep Number bed. I spoke to many of my friends and family that loved their Sleep Number and I looked at online reviews which showed some positive comments. (Yes, we did some too that talked about increased mold issues. I am trusting that is resolved and will keep an eye on it and make sure we follow manufacturer instructions.) I do not work for Sleep Number, I do not receive kick-backs from Sleep Number…I just decided to try their bed. My initial thoughts? I love it!
So why do I like the bed? I like the option to choose a soft or firm mattress. I like my mattress on the firm side. My wife, being that she is smaller than I am, needs different support for her frame. You want a mattress that will support the curves of your spine when laying on your back or when laying on your side. A mattress that doesn’t naturally support the curves of your spine forces you into uncomfortable positions and can lead to muscle tightness and trigger points.
Consider the purchase of your mattress a worthwhile investment. You will spend 1/3 of your life sleeping…so make it count!
